The New Hoskins Park Patio

Hoskins Park Ministries is in process of building a 30×30 patio on its property in northwest Charlotte.  We have been in need of a chapel but city zoning will not permit us to build such a facility.  So in order to accommodate a place of community, we are building a patio.  Steve Wile, owner of Secure your doors, Charlotte, NC, with help from volunteers is under contract to finish the facility by the end of March, 2012.  Hoskins Park Ministries will use it for back-yard events.  It is built after the facility at the Harris YMCA in south Charlotte and is supported by Teresa Baxter, The Harris YMCA, and Forest Hill Church.  Come take a look!

15th House – mission accomplished!

HPM is pleased to announce the completion of their 15th house, donated by The Village Church several months ago, but which has undertaken a transformation headed by Paige Vestal of HPM.  Paige has creatively financed and implemented volunteers to complete the house at virtually no cost to Hoskins Park.  Many people have contributed their time and money.  We would like to first thank God for the work He continues to do at HPM.  To Him be the glory!

The HPM Inner City Running Team

Hoskins Park Ministries and Urban Outreach have put together a running team that consists of several of the staff of Hoskins Park Ministries as well as several urban leaders.  The idea was thought up by Tom Wheeler who is the unspecified coach of the team, who felt that many Christian leaders are spiritually focused but without considering the importance of treating their bodies, “like a temple of the Holy Spirit.”  He has seen enough of his fellow Christian leaders fall in this area that he wanted to help.  They are in partnership with the Harris YMCA.

The Hoskins Running Team Completes 5k

The Hoskins / Urban Outreach Running team. We just did the Morrison 5k, this is the after picture was taken and everyone made it! Our next race is August 20th, the OrthoCarolina 10k. All are invited to come out and support the team!

HPM has a new House!!!

However, we need your help! Since we already have the keys to the house and the utilities turned on, we are only waiting on the following supplies to fill this Christmas home with men during this severe cold (what a Christmas present for those that we take in). So, could you please help us with the following items, by next week (sooner than later)? And remember if it was you or your family in the cold every hour counts! It is sooo cold.

Urgent Need

We have 2 refrigerators that no longer work and need replacing immediately. We may already have one coming so we really need one refrigerator asap (food is spoiling while we wait).

If you want to buy it and have it shipped to us, fine, or if you want to donate $500 for this item, just let us know.

The Ministry could also use help and resources for their Christmas Party and Gifts for the Men at this season of celebration of our Lord’s Birth.
